What is Realtime?

< Back to Blog

Realtime is the simultaneous translation of the proceedings from the court reporter's steno machine to computers.

Realtime connections utilizing RealLegal's LiveNote®, Summation® Blaze™, Stenograph's Case CATalyst™ or other software allow attorneys to receive a "live" uncertified transcript directly to their computers from the court reporter, allowing counsel to view, highlight and annotate the realtime transcript.

The realtime transcript also can be streamed via a secure line on the internet to computers off-site for viewing by co-counsel, legal staff and experts.

A rough draft of the transcript is provided to counsel after the proceedings. Timestamping is available upon request.
